expfactor_logo_final-01Let’s look at the bigger picture. Finding work that motivates you and feeds your passion is so important, sometimes it can take a while to really discover something meaningful that will provide just the right mix. Sometimes I think one can have many passions and may struggle to figure out a way to harness them all. If you don’t feel passionate about the work you do, do not despair.

Feeding your passionate side might consist of involvement in a group or organization outside the workplace. Finding something to start up or get involved in outside of the workplace that will feed your soul and bring you satisfaction will likely make you a better, more engaged, more well-rounded employee while at work. Maybe you are one of those individuals lucky enough to be passionate about what you do for a living… but it does not make you unlucky if you don’t fall in this category. The important thing to remember is to find and create passion in other areas of your life and this will enhance all other aspects of what you do.

People who find inspiration eventually make things happen. In the article, What Inspires Me: Game-Changing People Everywhere, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson writes, “I get a lot of business proposals and they are usually fascinating to hear, as you never know where the next game-changing idea will come from.”

How will you leave your mark on this world? Will you leave it a better place than you found it? I personally don’t have children of my own and probably won’t, but I still feel the need to leave my mark on the world, to know that the world is a better place because I have lived.  Are you finding the inspiration in life that turns into passion? Whether you are lucky enough to find your passion at work or even luckier to find it outside of what you do for a living, what matters is that you are seeking out what brings you passion. I cannot say it any better than Richard, “I think it is all of our responsibility to try and leave the planet in a better condition than we found it.”

This is why I do what I do. As a recruiter, I enjoy helping people find meaningful work that inspires them and helps them to find that passion. In turn, I know the majority of the people I help will leave this world a better place.
