DENVER (July 19, 2013)—Today’s report from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment included some seeming contractions: payroll jobs increased by 11,000 last month, but unemployment also ticked up from 6.9 to 7%. One reason, economists say, is that the labor force increased by 2,300 workers in June. The news confirms one trend noted by recruiters at Experience Factor—more young professionals relocating to Colorado and seeking job placement assistance.  The recruiting and staffing firm offers contract and direct hire services for some of the largest employers in the Denver Metro Area in key industries like hospitality, healthcare, telecommunications, professional and business services and construction.

Experience Factor CEO Stephanie Klein says her firm specializes in placing experienced professionals, but is currently fielding more resumes from a younger demographic. “We see a lot of people moving to Colorado, especially young people. This is bitter sweet; it’s good because the mountains, city and healthy lifestyle we enjoy here attracts a young, educated workforce, but it’s challenging too because we still don’t have enough jobs for this group.”

Experience Factor fills many high level administrative and technical positions in business, finance and human resources.  Klein says while her clients are in a hiring mode, it’s increasingly hard to find people with the right skills or experience to fill many of the higher level openings. Many of the recent graduates don’t have the expertise needed.
